The Biology of Being Exhausted

Napping

Growing up, my mother used to say, “We’re a napping family”. As a little kid, I accepted that and layed down to take my naps. My mom and I napped almost every day of my childhood until I went to first grade. It turns out she knew what many great parents know or eventually figure out: crabby kids and unhappy stressed out moms show up for dinner, instead of the loving people they really are when well rested. What she discovered for our family is that exhaustion is a function of the adrenal reserves in need of “refueling”.

Most of us experience adrenal exhaustion on a daily basis. In fact, if the title of this article drew you in: you probably have it as well. Today, it is common for many Americans to:

  • Grab a cup of coffee for energy to start the day and consume caffeinated drinks or sugary snacks to try to sustain their energy throughout the day.
  • Go to bed late, wake up early, and push through fatigue instead of laying down to rest.
  • Choose food based on convenience versus nutritional value.
  • Be on the run while eating, paying little attention to eating without stress and chewing food well.

Dr. John Tinterra, a doctor who specialized in adrenal function, surmised in 1969 that 66% of the public could be classified as having severe adrenal exhaustion. That was before the internet, mobile phones, online gaming, lack of physical education in school and the need for us to be on top of information exponentially increased. This applies to both children and adults. Let’s face it, we are a society of fast food eaters, (white, starchy, sugary, salty, and creamy), putting more onto the calendar than is humanly possible, and not stopping to refresh or reset our heart and minds (even for 10 minutes!). These things throw the biology of the body out of balance, affecting our sympathetic nervous system and adrenal function.

Adrenal Stress – What are some of the signs?

  • Energy crashes at different points in the day
  • Low self esteem due to low energy output
  • Feeling anxious
  • Craving sugar or salt
  • Dilated pupils
  • Poor appetite in the morning
  • Decreased tolerance to cold
  • Sensitivity to lights and loud noises
  • Apathy
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Low blood sugar episodes
  • Low levels of gastric hydrochloric acid
  • Sluggish bowels
  • Histamine imbalance
  • Unreasonable fears, due to low energy and possibly high copper toxicity

The adrenal glands are rounded disc-shaped glands about 3-4 inches across. One sits on top of each kidney, located on either side of your lower back, just above where your ribs end. They secrete a number of hormones that prepare our bodies to respond to stress, and they are essential for life.

Change Your Biology

Many of us have become adept at overriding the signals that the adrenals give us when they need replenishing with rest, good food, or quenching a thirst. To begin to unravel adrenal exhaustion you may want to consider restoring and fortifying your adrenals by adding any of the following into your week:

  1. Loving Energy, a supreme adrenal tonic based on an ancient formulation created by Taoist monks. These monks would keep a pot of this tea going all day in the kitchen. Several times a day, when they took a break from their prayers and studies, they would drink a cup full. Enjoy the full and thirst quenching flavors of schizandra berries, licorice, spirit reishi mushroom and eleuthero ginseng.
  2. Liver Life®, a superior liver formula, supports healthy regulation of stress hormones by the liver.
  3. A 20-minute power nap, the optimal amount of time most supported by research. Set an alarm; turn off the “beeps” of electronic notifications. Add 5–10 minutes to allow time for relaxation for the actual nap. Choose a relaxation ritual for yourself to signal your mind it’s okay to fall asleep. Do not go over 30-40 minutes as this may create deep sleep and cause what’s called sleep inertia.
  4. Decrease caffeine products, slowly but surely. You will have a huge amount of energy after 7 days decreasing and ultimately eliminating caffeine and replacing it with herbs or food that replenish the adrenal energy.
  5. Increase intake of adrenal or yin forming food and herbs: Water, salty flavored foods (miso soup, sea salt, salted raw sauerkraut or kimchi) kidney shaped food (black beans, kidney beans – most beans), blue and black food (blueberries, blackberries, mulberries), seafood (fish, shrimp, seaweeds), seeds (flax, pumpkin, sunflower, black sesame), nuts (walnuts, chestnuts), animal products (pork, duck, lamb, eggs, and cheese), bone-marrow broths and soups, grains (barley, millet), vegetables (asparagus, deep green leafy vegetables, celery, and cucumber), tonics (chlorella and kelp), moistening herbs (nettles, oatstraw, marshmallow, slippery elm, comfrey, aloe vera gel, rehmannia root, coix).

I’m reminded of a little girl crying and her brother asks with annoyance, “Did you have your nap today?” Irritated, the little girl replies, “No!”  We are all susceptible to over extending ourselves. These 5 easy steps will make a huge difference with how you perceive what is going on in your world.  Happy napping!

Tips: A Quick Start to Power Napping

  1. Play your favorite power nap soundtrack.
  2. Find a comfortable position.
  3. Slowly relax each part of your body.
  4. Clear your mind.
  5. Slow down your breathing; breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Are Anti-bacterial Soaps As Good As We Thought?

What Are You Washing Your Hands With?
Research on Triclosan, Your Family’s Options and A Fun Recipe!

For a while “antibacterial” soaps were thought to be a good idea. However, the Minnesota House and Senate recently passed a bill to ban the use of triclosan due to health and environmental concerns. Triclosan was first registered as a pesticide in 1969 and according to the FDA is now being used in 75% of all antibacterial soaps and body washes in the United States. It is also a common ingredient found in toothpaste, toys, clothing and kitchenware.

“Triclosan is found in virtually everyone’s home and is pervasive in the environment. These findings provide strong evidence that the chemical is of concern to both human and environmental health.” said Isaac Pessah, the study’s lead author.

Triclosan bio-accumulates in the fatty tissue and has been detected in breast milk and blood samples in humans. Studies show triclosan is linked to many health and environmental issues including developmental defects, liver toxicity, endocrine disruption, abnormal cellular function, impaired reproductive hormone activity and cell signaling in the brain as well as antibiotic resistance.  Researchers at the University of California at Davis exposed the individual muscle fibers of fish and mice to triclosan and found it impaired the normal contraction mechanism. Both skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle no longer operated normally, and this was true when the mice and fish were tested themselves, or their muscle fibers were examined individually in a test tube.

“We were surprised by the large degree to which muscle activity was impaired in very different organisms and in both cardiac and skeletal muscle. You can imagine in animals that depend so totally on muscle activity that even a 10 per cent reduction in ability can make a real difference in their survival.” Bruce Hammock, a study co-author and professor in the UC Davis Department of Entomology

  • 25% reduction in heart function within 20 minutes of triclosan exposure
  • 18% reduction in grip strength for up to 60 minutes after triclosan exposure
  • CDC research detects triclosan in the urine of 75% of Americans (Calafat 2007).
  • A Mount Sinai School of Medicine study finds triclosan in the urine of 61% of girls age 6 to 8 years old. (Wolff 2007).

Unless you are living in the country, making your own soap and personal care items or living off the land, your family has been exposed to this toxic chemical. However, the good news is – nature always has a solution. Research shows chlorella, found in NDF® & NDF Plus®, removes and biodegrades triclosan.

NDF®  is an organic heavy metal & chemical detoxifier that safely removes toxic heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, organochlorides and BPA while balancing beneficial nutrients. It is a gentle detoxifying formula for individuals with a normal constitution.
NDF Plus® issafely removes toxic heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, organochlorides and BPA while balancing beneficial nutrients. NDF Plus® is a gentle detoxifying formula for sensitive individuals with assimilation, immune and/or digestive issues.

NDF® & NDF Plus® increase the excretion of heavy metals such as mercury, lead, aluminum, and arsenic. They remove chemicals, such as PCB’s and dioxin, and pesticides, such as lindane. The chlorella cell wall in NDF® and NDF Plus® is a mucopolysaccharide (non-metal) ion exchange resin (MIER™). It forms both ionic and double bonds with toxins in the body.

Pets Exposures To Toxins: New Statistics

Bioray-for-pets

In 2013, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) in Urbana, Illinois, handled nearly 180,000 cases of pets being exposed to toxic substances. Insecticides, house hold products, rodenticides and lawn and grass fertilizers were some of the top common concerns.

Although this report distinguishes acute occurrences with pets, it is the daily exposure that has an accumulative effect. These toxins bio-accumulate in the fatty tissues and joints in our pets. Helping our four legged family members is just as important to their health and vitality. Environmental Working Groups unprecedented study found that companion dogs and cats were contaminated with 48 of 70 industrial chemicals tested, particularly mercury, flame retardants, stain treatments and grease resistant coatings.

Our pets have their noses low to the ground stone ingesting toxins. They also continually lick their paws and private parts. (Do they consider them private?) These sites are high for ingesting heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, and unwanted organisms. The key to healthy pets is to support their body’s elimination pathways, such as the liver, kidneys, and bowels and to mobilize and bind these toxins for removal.

We recommend specific combinations of BIORAY® products to safely support your pets health. See our Pet Protocol, the chart below, for recommended doses based on weight.

Our pets bring us joy, relieve stress, and enrich our lives. They increase healthy hormones in humans such as cortisol and oxytocin. It is our responsibility to provide them with good food, water, and exercise, and to support them with healthy solutions to daily toxic exposures.

Simple Tips to Avoid Unwanted Organisms and Onset of Cold, Flu

cold_season

Did you know the easiest way to avoid the onset of cold, flu or unwanted organisms is by simply washing your hands correctly. Dr. Omar Amin and Dr. Kenneth Seatton found 100% of the employees in a 4-Star restaurant had some amount of fecal matter under their nail beds and around their cuticles. This is the primary way micro organisms are passed between humans. Hand washing is our first line of defense and the most effective defense.

Of more than 3,700 people using the restroom, 95% of them were not properly washing their hands, observed undercover researchers. Here is the breakdown:

  • 33% didn’t use soap.
  • 10% skipped hand-washing entirely.
  • 15% of men didn’t wash at all.
  • 7% of women didn’t wash at all.
  • 50% of men who washed their hands used soap
  • 79% of women who washed their hands used soap

The average hand washing time was 6 seconds, far below the 20 seconds recommended by the CDC.

How to Wash your hands the right way

  1. Wet your hands with clean, running water and apply soap.
  2. Rub your hands together, lather and scrub them well. Be sure to include the backs of your hands, between your fingers.
  3. With one hand, take your index finger and go around each cuticle and under each nail bed of the the opposite hand. This is crucial, as we see eggs left under nail and around cuticle bed with the “simplified” hand washing common to most people.
  4. Continue rubbing your hands for at least 20 seconds. Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
  5. Rinse your hands well under running water.
  6. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them. If you are in a public bathroom, use your drying towel to grip the door handle. Dispose neatly in closest rubbish bin :)

Because this is such a wide spread issue, when you eat out at restaurants, take 6-10 drops of Artemisia & Clove™ in water or juice before eating.  This will increase your HCL, hydrochloric acid, which naturally supports your body when exposed to these types of unhealthy conditions.

Behavioral and Functional Abnormalities Associated with Heavy Metal Toxicity

x_0_0_0_2069_300

Many behavioral and functional abnormalities are associated with heavy metal toxicity, however they are often disguised as chronic illness, social or genetic issues. Heavy metal toxicity is often the underlying causal factor for many symptoms. We will look at some of the common metals and the behavioral and functional issues that can occur with exposure.

In this growing industrial world with so many pollutants in the air and water, removing toxic heavy metals and chemicals from your body has become a necessity. The human body was not designed to filter out the excessive amount of pollution we now encounter on a daily basis. Here are a few common heavy metals that can be safely removed with the help of organic detox products like NDF Plus®:

Lead
Although the United States government has made significant strides in removing lead from items like gasoline, paints and other items, nearly 500,000 children are overexposed to lead, according to the Physicians for Social Responsibility. This type of metal cannot be destroyed or eradicated, so lead is still found in our air, ground and water supply.

Behavioral & Functional Abnormalities Associated with Lead:

  • Alterations in nerve conduction velocity
  • Abnormal EEGs
  • Autonomic disturbances
  • Immune imbalances
  • Reproductive issues
  • Cognitive disturbances
  • Attention problems
  • Speech and language deficits
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Aggressive behaviors
  • Weakness
  • Malaise

Mercury
Coal-burning power plants account for over 40 percent of all domestic human-caused mercury emissions in the United States. Once deposited in water or soil, certain microorganisms can change mercury into methylmercury, a highly toxic form that builds up in fish, shellfish and animals that eat fish. Mercury is also found in silver amalgam dental fillings, in medicines, fertilizers and preservatives. Mercury is used to manufacture industrial chemicals and electrical devices. Mercury has been proven to cause nervous system and kidney issues, according to the United States Department of Labor.

Behavioral & Functional Abnormalities Associated with Mercury

  • Repetitive or compulsive behaviors
  • Social withdrawal
  • Irritability
  • Temper tantrums
  • Speech comprehension deficits
  • Cognitive Impairments
  • Mood swings
  • Hand flapping
  • Walking in circles
  • Lack of eye contact
  • Attention issues

Thallium

People can be exposed to thallium from coal-burning and smelting, eating contaminated foods, breathing the air at work in industries that use Thallium or by smoking cigarettes.  A study on workers exposed on the job from breathing Thallium reported nervous system effects, such as numbness of fingers and toes.

Behavioral & Functional Abnormalities Associated with Thallium:

  • Liver dysfunction
  • Increased heart rate
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Anxiety/nervous tendencies
  • Muscle pain
  • Head pain

Arsenic

Arsenic has been used as a medicinal agent, a pigment, and a pesticide. It was used until recently as part of the treatment to render architectural wood immune to pest infestation, in the form of chromate copper arsenate (CCA). Data suggest that a significant quantity of arsenic may leach from this wood into landfills and into the interiors of homes with existing CCA-treated decks.[3, 4, 5] The durability of the CCA-treated wood suggests that such exposures may continue for decades.

Behavioral & Functional Abnormalities Associated with Arsenic

  • Impaired facial recognition
  • Weakness
  • Abnormal sensations in the mouth and extremities
  • Hearing loss
  • Aversion to touch
  • Skin irritations

Aluminum

Over the counter medications can be one of the largest sources of aluminum. Frequent users of buffered aspirin could take up to 700mg of this metal each day. Digestive aides, such as diarrhea and hemorrhoid medicines also contain aluminum. Aluminum inhibits proper digestion and can stop the body’s ability to utilize calcium, phosphorus and fluoride. This prevents bone growth and reduces bone density.

Behavioral & Functional Abnormalities Associated with Aluminum:

  • Poor concentration
  • Poor memory (short term, verbal and auditory)
  • Decreased locomotor activity
  • Speech issues
  • Respiratory imbalances

There are a variety of heavy metal testing that can be done to determine you or your family’s level of toxicity.

Which one should you choose, NDF® or NDF Plus®?

NDF-or-NDFplus

We are often asked why do you have two detoxification formulas? The answer is in clinic we found that some people are more reactive to their environment, and therefore use more energy from the body to maintain status quo or homeostasis. These “low electron” folks generally have a difficult time tolerating many foods and supplements, they are very sensitive. NDF Plus® was created to address these individuals.

To simplify it… NDF® is for individuals with a normal constitution. NDF Plus® has additional fermented herbs for sensitive individuals who have what we call a ‘low battery focus’.

Low Battery Focus
Low battery focus is when the cells’ ability to communicate with each other is so debilitated that it is similar to a low car battery.  This is especially true for people with chronic exposure to toxins, immune, digestive and assimilation issues. These individuals often have a difficult time detoxifying and up-taking nutrients this then leaves them tired, overwhelmed and reactive to their environment.

NDF Plus® contains 25% less micronized chlorella and cilantro, the ingredients that bind to and remove toxins, due to the added drainage herbs. NDF Plus® has been put through an additional fermentation process. This process creates more naturally occurring fulvic acid complexes, which improve cell-to-cell communication and a sensitive individual’s ability to detoxify. Fulvic acid complexes facilitate detoxification and elimination by increasing the vital activity of cells and organs. NDF® contains these same fulvic acid complexes. NDF Plus® just contains more.

We are electrical beings and when our cells cannot communicate effectively, we see diminished functionality of many systems, often resulting in neurological issues. NDF Plus® balances both beta and theta wave amplitudes as seen with real time EEG results.

  • Beta waves are responsible for normal waking consciousness. Low amplitude of beta waves is often associated with active, busy, or anxious thinking and active concentration. We need balanced beta waves to behave appropriately in many situations.
  • Theta waves instigate the release of GABA, which balances the brain by inhibiting over-excitement. It is the “calming” or “peacemaker” chemical in the brain.  We need GABA to induce relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Users of NDF Plus®  report: Improvement in cognitive function, focus, appropriate behaviors, tolerance of environment and interest in interacting with family. Decrease in the emotional and physical problems experienced for 20 years.
  • NDF Plus® results are profound and lasting.

NDF Plus® is recommended for sensitive individuals due to the additional cellular support, increased utilization of the ingredients, drainage support and a slower, more gradual detox.

While detoxification may be a bit slower with NDF Plus®, it is the most appropriate detoxification product for those who need to optimize cellular function.

Can a sensitive individual use NDF®?
Yes. Anyone can benefit from either product. However, a sensitive individual will often feel best on NDF Plus®.

Guess what 3-5 drops of NDF Plus® can do?
Sneezing fit: Stops them
Can’t focus: Resets
Swim: Mitigates irritations from chlorine exposure
Eat lots of fish: Binds & removes toxic metals and chemicals
Love to drink from plastic bottles: Removes chemicals including BPA

Health benefits of chlorella

algae

With all of the ingredients that are available in the natural supplement market, it can be difficult to pick out the products that are right for you. However, with chlorella, an active ingredient in NDF®, many people from all walks of life have found success with their balance and overall health for several reasons.

What is chlorella?
This herb literally translates into “small green” in Greek, as chlorella is single-celled algae that grows in freshwater, making it a very special and rare plant. Based on it’s genetic mutations, scientists believe that this plant has been on earth for around 2 million years, and it is also believed to be one of the first types of microscopic organism that had a well-defined nucleus.

One of the most surprising things about chlorella is the fact that it is a very small plant, and it mainly grows in Australia and southeast Asia. Although it’s been part of the ecosystem for many centuries, it has only recently become popular in Western countries.

Chlorella and your digestive tract
Chlorella has been proven to balance a healthy mix of good microbes in the gut, which is known to boost the digestive tract and make for better bowel movements. It also absorbs toxins and chemicals in your intestines, which is critical in a heavy metal detox. By clearing out the digestive tract and then getting rid of these chemicals, you could feel a lot more balanced and have increased energy levels.

Chlorella your immune system
Studies show chlorella can provide many positive benefits to individuals with imbalances in their immune response and cellular activity. Chlorella contains all essential amino acids, has twice as much protein as spinach, and is packed with vitamins and minerals that are perfect for a heavy metal cleanse. When your immune response is balanced, your body can focus on the things it needs to in order to stay healthy.

Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF)
Chlorella contains high levels of healing and anti-aging factors for adults. Especially valuable are the nucleic acids, RNA and DNA, and specific to chlorella, the nucleotide-peptide Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF). Peptides, proteins, RNA and DNA, polysaccharide, beta glucans, sulfur and manganese combine to form CGF. This is responsible for chlorella’s rapid rate of reproduction; each cell reproduces 4 times every 20 hours or so. In our bodies this compound works to promote healthy cellular growth and repair. Dr. Minchinori Kimura of Japan found levels of 1O% RNA and 3% DNA in chlorella, which would make chlorella the highest-known food substance in nucleic acids. Used regularly, chlorella would support and assist genetic material in human cells, protecting health and slowing down the aging process.

What benefits can be attributed to CGF?
CGF maintains and repairs healthy cells, increases energy levels, stimulates growth of new cells, support of immune function, and stimulates the growth in children and animals who have not yet reached their full, adult size.

Chlorella the ingredient in NDF® and NDF Plus®
NDF® and NDF Plus® are proprietary synergistic blends of micronized organic chlorella, cilantro and probiotic lysate. The chlorella cell wall in NDF® and NDF Plus® are mucopolysaccharide ion exchange resins, and forms both ionic and double bonds with the metals it comes into contact with. NDF® and NDF Plus® are manufactured with the exact methodology used to produce a ‘clathrating agent’, a bond that completely encloses the bound metal material and this is in addition to the ion exchange resin in the chlorella cell wall. Cilantro increases the mobilization of toxic metals. The probiotic lysate decreases imbalances in the gut which are very common with heavy metal detoxification. The synergy of the ingredients in NDF® and NDF Plus® is what makes these formulas so safe and effective.

Chlorella’s beneficial vitamins and minerals
Chlorella contains protein (58-60%), beta-carotene, carbohydrates, all of the B vitamins, vitamins C, D, and E, amino acids (including all 8 essential amino acids), macrominerals (calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus) and trace minerals, CGF, chlorellan, dextran sulfate, fatty acids (e.g. linolenic acid, palmitlinoleic acid, palmitic acid), nucleic acids and fiber (Yance 1999, 230; Willard 1992, 84).

How many amino acids are in NDF® and NDF Plus®?
Among 22 different amino acids, all but 8 can be produced inside our body by using the other amino acids as material. These 8 amino acids can never be produced in our body, but must be consumed from food. These are called “essential amino acids”. If any of these are lacking, the others cannot function. Chlorella, the highest ingredient in NDF® and NDF Plus®, contain 19 out of 22 different amino acids and all 8 of the essential amino acids (leucine, valine, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, isoleucine, methionine, tryptophan). Chlorella is considered a complete protein.

Male, 10 year old presents as a “non-excretor” of heavy metals. He is treated with an IV DMPS (a di-thiol detoxifier)  “challenge” to promote excretion of heavy metals; his results show less than impressive results in column two below. His next IV DMPS challenge includes ingesting 7 drops of NDF Plus® 2x a day along with 8 drops of Liver Life™ 2x a day in water. This increases his excretion of heavy metals dramatically over his baseline IV DMPS. Patient begins to remove mercury and other toxic heavy metals with the addition of NDF®, a M.I.E.R. detoxifier and liver and kidney drainage support.

Di-thiol detoxifiers go straight for the heavy metals and dislodge them; however they are not efficient at binding to them. One study reports, “We show that neither DMSA nor DMPS forms a true chelate complex with mercuric ions and that these drugs should be considered suboptimal for their clinical task of binding mercuric ions”[1]. When these detoxifiers are given in combination with NDF® or NDF Plus®, an increase in the elimination will occur due to the M.I.E.R. binding capabilities.

Today, stressors for human beings are abundant. It has become a daily necessity to remove toxins that contribute to the dysbiosis and destabilizing of one’s body, mind and spirit. If substances are added to the body that cannot be completely metabolized by the cell intelligence, then balancing or mitigating their detrimental impact is necessary for the body’s healing processes. This can be easily accomplished by including foods and herbs that Mother Nature provides. The achievement of balance, vitality, and health is at our fingertips.

The Down and Dirty on Man-Made Versus Natural Detoxifiers

How Plant-Based Detoxifiers Benefit Chemical Detoxifiers
The Detox Series, Article 1
Stephanie Ray and Tami Wilken, USA

A state of “man-made versus nature” exists in the world today. Humans manufacture and ingest many substances that cannot be naturally broken down by the human body. These substances exist in our air, water, food, even our teeth [1] and include environmental pollutants [2] such as heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, and plastics. Research shows these pollutants contribute to many health issues in adults and children [3] [4] [5] [6] [7].

How do we safely and effectively remove these environmental toxins from the body?

Sulfur Based Heavy Metal Detoxifiers

DMSA [8] (Meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid) and DMPS [9] (2,3-dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium) are man-made, inorganic, sulfur based di-thiol (two sulfur atoms) heavy metal detoxifiers that mobilize heavy metals. Research shows DMSA and DMPS remove heavy metals from the body including the organs, brain, and connective tissue [10] [11] by pulling metals from their binding sites.

We must take into consideration the terrain damage that results when these substances are used on their own. Due to the sulfur content, dysbiosis in the gut is a common side effect. Studies indicate DMSA and DMPS impair immune function, increase hepatic enzymes and creatinine levels as well as deplete essential nutrients including selenium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum [12] [13] [14]. And since supplementation is needed over an extensive period of time to detoxify toxic heavy metals, using sulfur based chelators alone is inefficient and contraindicated to restoring healthy balance in the body.

Monitoring liver function (SGOT, SGPT, GGT, ALT, AST), kidney function (BUN, creatinine) and Complete Blood Count (CBC) is recommended.

Both are volatile and strong-smelling resulting in a sulfur odor often compared to onions, garlic, and skunk musk. DMPS and DMSA are not recommended when silver amalgam fillings are in the teeth [15] [16]. The half life of DMPS and DMSA is approximately 6-8 hours and 4 hours, respectively [17] [18].

NDF® and NDF Plus®: Mother Nature’s Detoxifiers

NDF® (Natural Detox Factors) and NDF Plus® (Natural Detox Factors Plus) are all natural detoxifying dietary supplements. The benefits of these two are an increase in the excretion of and binding to toxic heavy metals, chemicals, and pesticides. The chlorella [19] [20] [21] cell wall in NDF® and NDF Plus® is a mucopolysaccharide ion exchange resin (M.I.E.R) that forms both ionic and double bonds with toxic heavy metals, chemicals, and pesticides and escorts them out of the body. NDF® and NDF Plus® also contain cilantro [22] [23] [24], beneficial lysates of 13 beneficial probiotics, 19 amino acids – including the 8 essential amino acids, multiple vitamins and minerals, chlorella growth factor, and live enzymes. Neither NDF® nor NDF Plus® remove beneficial minerals or create imbalances; they are adaptogens [25] that restore the natural homeostasis in the body and bring essential elements into more “normal” ranges.

NDF® is recommended for those with normal to strong constitutions. NDF Plus® is recommended for those with high stress, compromised immune function, or assimilation issues. Both products are safe to ingest when silver amalgam fillings are in the teeth.

NDF® and NDF Plus® are available without a prescription. As liquid dietary supplements, they can be diluted in water or juice, given sublingually, rectally, or using a transdermal application. The half life of NDF® and NDF Plus® is 2 hours.

Man-made or Organic Detoxification?

In the case of man-made or inorganic supplements, these interventions tend to over stimulate and place a burden on different systems in the body. They can also drain nutrients. However, there are times when synthetic supplements are beneficial and necessary. Herbal and food based formulas coming from Mother Nature are organic, provide a synergistic supportive effect when used with inorganic supplements while having a balancing impact on the body.
