Step 2
Nourish Your Child's Liver & Restore Healthy pH
A key factor in healing often lies in nourishing the liver. This improves the liver’s capacity to carry out its many functions including detoxification and replenishing the blood. In traditional Chinese herbalism, the liver is considered the valve for emotions. When the liver is healthy and working smoothly, emotions are balanced. When the liver is congested, emotions back up and become irrational. This is especially important for kids.
What’s a Congested Liver?
There is a great burden placed on our kid’s liver by eating sugary, fried, fast food, and exposure to heavy metals and chemicals. There is a detrimental effect on all systems in the body, but especially the liver. When the liver becomes congested and cannot filter toxic waste, unfiltered toxins recirculate and are deposited throughout the body acidifying the tissue. When the body is in an acidic state, oxygen is lacking in the blood and we see a rise in neurological symptoms and behavioral issues. However, when a child’s body is alkaline, the body can flourish and heal. Alkalinity enhances circulation, tissue healing, and oxygenation of the blood and brain.
The easiest and most efficient way to decrease acidity in the body is to help the liver with adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms, supporting its ability to drain acidic toxic waste. This naturally restores the alkaline reserve in a short amount of time in children.
Liver Life® naturally strengthens the liver’s structure and function, improves the body’s ability to filter toxins, drains acidic waste and balances pH in children. Lab testing shows Liver Life® improves liver enzyme panels, fatty acid metabolism, nutrient absorption, glutathione markers and food sensitivities. Liver Life’s intervention study with kids resulted in a 36% overall improvement in ATEC, which measures speech and communication, social ability, sensory and cognitive awareness, health and physical behavior, in just 90 days.

Clinical Tip
When beginning Liver Life®, increase water and fresh lemon intake for the first 5 – 7 days. This super hydration will assist the liver and bowels to find homeostasis.
Understanding pH During a Detox
Environmental toxins, unhealthy flora and unwanted organisms contribute to an acidic body. As you restore your child’s first morning urine to the acidic range, and saliva to an alkaline pH range with Liver Life®, these imbalances are easier to resolve. You will notice your child’s overall health improves and they are better able to tolerate detoxification.
The first morning urine pH represents what kids are excreting. A healthy first morning urine pH is 5.5 - 6.2. The first morning saliva pH (before eating or drinking) represents the internal state of the body and should be 6.8 - 7.2.
Alkaline foods, if not chewed properly, can turn the body’s terrain acidic. If your child is not chewing foods adequately, supplementing with enzymes is essential to assist with breaking them down.
How to Measure First Morning Urine pH
To test first morning pH, urinate on a pH stick or litmus paper, or have your child urinate in a container and dip the pH paper into the urine. If your child is in diapers or overnight pants, put a cotton ball in the diaper at bedtime. Take out the cotton ball first thing in the morning and squeeze urine onto the pH stick or litmus paper.
Quickly compare the dipped stick/paper against the color graph for results.
When first morning urine is in the acidic range: 5.5 - 6.2, acids and toxic waste are leaving the body. If the pH is higher than 6.2, acids and toxins are staying in the body, acidifying the tissue and creating problems.
Continue to optimal intake by weight of Liver Life® to restore healthy pH balance. Fresh squeezed lemon juice in water or fresh squeezed lemonade will further assist in maintaining a healthy pH balance.
